Meal & Miniatures

What could be more fun than snagging some friends, grabbing a three course meal and then painting a magnificent miniature work of art.  All participants will paint a miniature in acrylic on canvas and receive an easel to display your work of art on your favorite coffee table. Our artist is oh so wonderful and loves to teach this world of miniature painting.  Get the Monet out of you and create your own masterpiece.

Teen Mystery Lunch

Detective TML is on the Job... Teen Mystery Lunch. Grab a group of friends and try and solve the Mystery of the Lost Tea Cups.  This is a great time for a birthday party or other celebration.  You will be treated to a three course luncheon and then you will try and solve the mystery.  Each teen at the table will have a part and prizes will be awarded.  Takes about three hours, but oh, so much fun!  Become a detective and follow the clues. 12 -18 years of age.

Food and Fun Jewelry Fashion

Share the love of Jewelry and Food at the Indianapolis Propylaeum.  Tour the Victorian ladies club that was built in 1890 for $125,000.  Then join others for a three course dinner and partake from our bar stocked with craft beers and wines.

Following dinner, the jewelry design team from lia sophia will show you the latest fashion trends, accessorize and show you what might work with your wardrobe pieces.  You will have an insider’s look at the newest fashion looks right out of the manufacturer’s showrooms. 

You will get a little bangle as a thank you gift for sharing the evening with us and friends.

Staycation Events

Come spend a memorable time at The Indianapolis Propylaeum this summer. We offer 8 family friendly events that will provide a great time for all. Each event includes a three course meal and an activity for the group. Reservations are required 317.638.7881.

The Art of Origami - Families will eat with chop sticks and experience some fine Japanese fare. After dinner they will each make a origami piece (degree of difficulty per age) and then put it together as a family mobile. So different and fun. A great family project!

Puzzler - Enjoy dinner and then get on your "degree of difficulty". Each family will get a 250 pc puzzle to put together. Prizes will be awarded for time and accuracy. Fondue, Food & Festival

Remember the 70's when Beer and Fondue was it. Grab your Hippy beads and bell bottom pants (leasure suits and Nik Nik shirts are acceptable) and come for our 70's parties. Our July, August and September dates bring out the Woodstock in you. The grass and the carriage house set the stage. Live Music will entertain you. Write Beautiful Music Together

Want to write beautiful music together?  
While you enjoy dinner and a glass of wine, rhonda and greg, a married, singer-songwriter duo from Indianapolis, will serenade you and your special friend with heartfelt music in an intimate setting.  After dinner, rhonda and greg will lead you and your partner through the process of writing a beautiful song that represents your love for each other.

Writing the Lyrics:

• Each person will begin by writing down words or phrases that represent their relationship
• Couples will be asked to share their ideas with each other
• Couples will be taught how to write lyrics based on different rhyming schemes
• Couples will be asked to create lyrics based on their shared phrases and words using one of the rhyming schemes described

Writing the melody:

• rhonda and greg will help create a melody for each of the couple's song lyrics

Each couple will be given a demo recording of their beautiful love song

Rip it Up!!!

Combine your artistic talents and your need to release frustration in our new event! You will have the opportunity to make a tissue paper collage on one of the topics presented. (Look at the example and book your date). You will be greeted with a glass of wine or beer, experience a three course meal and then be guided through a "rip" roaring artistic adventure. Gourmet Appreciation

This is a party that you will not want to miss. Limited to 48 people, this 10 course meal explores unique palate creations. From artichokes to zucchini you will love our executive chef's creations paired with a few good wines. The food keeps coming and the time is fun. Interactive Mystery Dinners

Dinner conversation is never boring when one enjoys a meal and a "whodunit." Enjoy a five course dinner as all at the table assume new personas and attempt to solve the crime dujour for $50 per person. Check out our menus and our plot lines. See if there is a little "Sherlock" in you. Tour  the house starting at 6pm, dinner at 7pm and lasts about 3 hours. Three-Course Dinner, Wine, & Art Class

Enjoy an evening of dinner and wine paired with an art class at the Indianapolis Propylaeum for $38. This downtown location combines an elegant Victorian setting with delightfully decadent food. You'll be treated to a salad, your choice of three magnificent main courses, a glass of wine, and a divine dessert along with chocolate-dipped strawberries. Following your majestic meal, you'll create your own wonderful work of art under the guidance of an experienced painter. You'll leave feeling like you're walking on a cloud -- maybe like the one you just painted. Come at 6:30pm to look around and dinner starts promptly at 7pm and lasts about 2.5 hours.
