Born in Oklahoma, the youngest child in an Air Force family, artist Heidi Harner has lived in many places throughout her life. She considers it a privilege to have lived in many parts of
the U.S and experienced much of Europe through her travels with family and friends.
Having a life-long interest in drawing, Heidi began painting while living in Colorado in 1994. Since then she has enjoyed working in oils, doing both plein aire and studio painting.
Subjects of interest include all of God’s bounty: natural landscapes, fruit and vegetable still-lifes, horses, dogs, and farm animals. For her, oils are a joy and a constant challenge,
never a bore.
Heidi is published in the Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 edition of Horses in Art Magazine.
She is also one of the women featured in GaWaNi Pony Boy’s book, “Of Women and Horses: More Reflections of the Magical Bond,” published by Bowtie Press, 2005, and she is featured
in the Creatures Comforts column in Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion Magazine Christmas 2003 edition.
Heidi is an associate member of WAOW (Women Artists of the West). She is a member of the CCA Gallery in Zionsville, Indiana, and the online western art gallery, Dakota Rocks. A BFA from Purdue University and her experiences as a professional art conservation framer have helped refine Heidi’s natural abilities as an artist.
She resides in Lafayette, Indiana with her husband, Brad, his daughter, Cassie, and two amusing dogs named Joey and Lucy. |
